DJ AWARDS 2011, NOMINEES ANNOUNCED...

DJ Awards 2011, Nominees Announced
Nominees for the 14th Edition of the DJ Awards have now marked their diaries with a massive gold star. This annual ceremony takes place on Tuesday 27th September at Pacha, Ibiza.

FIRE is the theme for the 2011 DJ Awards, which changed the history of humanity and civilization. It's a symbol used for millions of years at music gatherings, it's a source of inspiration and purification, it's the creator of power of life, energy and change which represents spirituality, enlightenment and renewal, and it's going to set this night on fire!

DJs are already urging their fans to get voting for them at www.djawards.com where everyone can nominate their heroes to win the prestigious Kryptonite.

Voters are also automatically entered into a draw for the chance to win 10 invitations to attend the ceremony.

The DJ Awards has 11 distinctive music style categories, with 8 nominees in each of them. There are also 11 ‘Special Awards’ which are decided by a panel of dance industry experts.

Honouring the fact that the scene is ever-changing and always evolving, the DJ Awards has added some new categories this year; Urban and Eclectic House.

These new categories have been added to embrace the global music scene and the fact that more and more acts are pushing the boundaries, taking clubbers on a musical journey - creating their own new music genres.

The DJ Awards also has new Special Awards this year which are: Live Performance, Remixer, Producer and Cutting Edge

The Cutting Edge award celebrates who is at the forefront of the dance scene this year in terms of music/producing/technology.

For many years now, the DJ Awards has become an end of season ritual in Ibiza. The awards unite DJs from all over the world who come to celebrate the music they love with their contemporaries. Previous winners who’ve graced the DJ Awards stage include David Guetta, Carl Cox, Tiesto, Luciano, Sasha, Armin Van Buuren, Loco Dice, DeadMau5, Axwell amongst many others.

So far, it’s been an amazing year for the dance scene and the DJ Awards celebrates all the elements which have made this happen, so get ready for an awards ceremony that will ignite your flame...

After the ceremony the party will continue in true Ibiza style with DJs David Morales and Sebastian Gamboa, who will be heating up the dancefloor until the very end!

It’s going to be hot...

(enjoying all these fire puns?!)
