AVICII - 1, LEONA - 0...

Leona Lewis VS Avicii
Leona Lewis might need to get herself another new single for the first offering of her upcoming third studio album. The former winner of "The X Factor" was recently forced to remove her newly-released song "Collide" from radio playlists due to copyright infringement accusation.

The removal was made shortly after complaint was filed by Avicii in a London court re. plagiarism of his track 'Fade Into Darkness'. His label Ministry of Sound issued a statement regarding the legal action, "Avicii is an up-and-coming talent; we think he should be given a fair crack at making this record the hit it deserves to be."

When Leona was hit with the plagiarism allegation last month, she was quick to deny it. "With regards to my song, avicii was aware & agreeing publishing splits for himself and his manager," she informed her Twitter followers in response to the controversy.

The song's producer Sandy Vee also voiced his denial, stating that the DJ was actually listed on the song credit. He tweeted, "Talk only if you know what u r talking about....if not shut up. FYI , check the credits, u will find Tim Berg, Autumn and I."

However, Tim had a different story which contradicted Leona and Sandy's statements. He posted on his own Twitter page, "To be clear im not taking credit for the melody (everything was cleared with penguin cafe orchestra and simon jeffes who wrote the song)."

Whatever the outcome of the case though, the clear victor will be the Penguin Café Orchestra which will be getting big cash either way. Swag.
