Wakestock UK are stoked to have some of the biggest names in the sport confirmed. They will be travelling to the Llyn Peninsula to compete for the title of Wakestock champion! Already confirmed for this year’s competition are Wakestock 2010 pool gap champion Aaron Rathy, US rider Danny Thollander, previous Wakestock champion Dan Nott, world cable champion Nick Davies, Aussie rider Scotty Broome, Thai ripper Padiwat Jaemjam aka the Bomb, British rail master CK, and returning to Wakestock after a couple of years away are UK riders Marc Rossiter, Jonty Green and Ben Hitch..

This year will see the prize money split equally between the Wakestock boat comp and the WWA Rail Europeans which are taking place on the pool gap which for those of you who haven’t been to Wakestock before, is slap bang in the middle of the festival site. The already ridiculously high standard of riding on the pool gap is going to explode! The boat finals will be taking place on Saturday afternoon in Pwllheli Marina. We will be opening up the festival site from 2pm on Sunday for the WWA Rail Europeans finals, which will run from 3pm to 6pm on Sunday at the festival site. The new format means that the 16 best rail riders in Europe will be battling it out for 3 hours non-stop on the infamous Wakestock pool gap! The Wakestock crew have some amazing plans to improve the area surrounding the pool gap making it a far more interactive area to chill and watch some of the world’s best rail riding while taking in the festival atmosphere got to www.wakestock.co.uk to read more about the action on the water this year.

There are 3 venues for the wakeboarding and 4 days of action in total. The main contest takes place in Pwllhelli Marina, just under 2 miles from the festival site. 2 epic rails are built and riders will be towed behind a the tow boat. In each run a rider can fit in over 10 wake style tricks and hit each rail.

Thursday is practice day and all the riders get the opportunity to dial their skills on the purpose built rails and boat wake. Friday is the pro qualifier and it’s hot competition this year. With more entries than ever before the standard of riding has never been so hot! 20 pros will be fighting out for places in the final and the chance to hit the jackpot on Saturday. The highlight happens on Saturday with the pro men final! 20 of the world’s finest wakeboarders will battle out for thousands of pounds and the honour of being a Wakestock Champion. Last year saw all 3 spots on the podium being taken by US riders so you can expect the British contingent to be fighting for revenge and their honour.

The second venue for the wakeboarding is the Mystic Big Air competition on Abersoch Beach on Sunday morning. Starting at 11am it is a 2 hour jam and the winner is the guy or girl who goes biggest! Two Yamaha WaveRunners will tow the riders around the course. They use a floating kicker to perform a trick of their choice. Biggest air gets £500 for their troubles.

The third venue is the Pool Gap on the festival site and this allows the wake action to continue well into the night. With wakeskating jams and the Rococo Rail Tour all taking place there is money to be won! We will be opening the festival site from 2pm on Sunday so you can catch all the action in the Pool Gap finals which will take place between 3pm and 6pm. All the wakeboard venues are linked together by shuttle buses so getting about couldn’t be easier. Make sure you check the timings and don’t miss out on the action.
