PETE TONG AND ALESSO JOIN SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA...

Pete Tong & Alesso added to One Night Stand Lineup
Pete Tong and Alesso are the latest acts to be added to the ever growing line up for the Swedish House Mafia's 'One Night Stand' show at the 65,000 capacity Milton Keynes Bowl on 14th July 2012.

These two new additions follow last week's announcement of Calvin Harris and pop/house producer Madeon who also joined the bill for the gargantuan 9 hour long event that's tipped to be the dance event of the summer.

As the UK’s best loved DJ and host of BBC Radio 1’s groundbreaking Essential Selection show Pete Tong’s legacy in electronic music history is legendary. He is the master of merging the underground with the mainstream and responsible for breaking some of the biggest tracks over the last 20 years. When Pete speaks people listen, and with millions tuning into 'something for the weekend' this makes Pete the voice of the dance music generation. Another artiste to break through over the last couple of years is Sebastian Ingrosso's protégé Alesso. At only 19 years old and with massive productions including 'Calling' and 'Raise Your Head' already under his belt, his fanbase continues to grow receiving accolades from the likes of Tiësto, Avici and Sander van Doorn. 2012 is set to be Alesso’s year.

Swedish House Mafia are giving fans the opportunity to purchase the full VIP Swedes experience. For £199 (inc. VAT & booking fee) fans will have access to an exclusive VIP compound with private catering and bar, tokens for food and drink and access to the aftershow party where DJ’s will play until 2am. Fans who have already bought a ticket will be able to upgrade for £154 (inc VAT). Info: https://www.facebook.com/swedishhousemafia?sk=app_179726115452353

SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA VS KNIFE PARTY ‘ANTIDOTE’...

Knife Party, Swedish House Mafia, Antidote
On Friday night i tuned into Annie Mac's Radio One show, as i heard rumour that she had been given the honour of having first spin of the full vocal version of Swedish House Mafia Vs Knife Party 'Antidote'...

Knife Party recorded the play, and uploaded it to their soundcloud:
http://soundcloud.com/knifepartyinc/radio-rip-of-swedish-house

Soundcloud users reaction has been mixed.
For the first 2 mins it's pretty much all positive...

"fuck yes sir."
"This track is a bomb! "
"YEYYYYYY! THIS IS IT!"
"Woah this track is crazy! Knife party are suuch a huge influence on my music making"
"wow..this is sick man"

Then the vocal kicks in and feedback goes rapidly downhill...

"Cheesy vocals just killed this song"
"THESE VOCALS BLOW"
"The vocals killed this song for me..."
"U really got to say to the Swedish house ppl to get those cheap vocals away!! Or at least give us an instrumental version cuz its really sick!:)"

What do i think?..
I’m a huge Knife Party fan. First hearing them at Space, Ibiza & more recently going to see them at Warehouse Project in Manchester.
I like Knife party because they are edgy, and have already established a recognisable sound.
The first 2 minutes of this track is signature Knife Party, and i absolutely love it.

The problem i have is that i do not like Swedish House Mafia; and the vocal that kicks in after 2 mins is signature SHM. It’s cheesy, pop, Will.I.Am/ Guetta influenced dross, & unfortunately it ruins the edginess for me.

Sad times... I pray they release the instrumental...

SHM ANNOUNCE LIVE ALBUM RELEASE DATE...

SHM One Night Stand
So yeah... The Swedes have a new live album due in December.

The 'One Night Stand' album will be stacked with exclusives, including the trio’s next single, Antidote. It’s a typically stadium-sized collaboration with Knife Party (the production project from Pendulum’s Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen).

Also on the tracklist is the Coldplay vs Swedish House Mafia edit Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, Steve Angello’s 'Yeah', Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso’s 'Calling' and a whole lot more from SHM affiliates like AN21 & Max Vangeli, Example and Thomas Gold.

We’ll let you know when an exact release date is announced.

FYI SHM sold out Madison Square Garden in 10 minutes... #just saying...

230911.com spells out MSG...

Swedish House Mafia, 23.09.11
Rumblings of an epic announcement have been suspected since the group first posted a website, www.230911.com, teasing coded numbers and letters that eventually came to spell out MSG...

Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell and Steve Angello are slated to take the stage at New York's famed Madison Square Garden in December.

In just a year and a half, the holy trinity of house will have gone from headlining Ultra Music Festival and Electric Daisy Carnival to hosting their very own 15,000-strong South Beach party. And now comes the Garden.

Should it be a surprise that a dance music outfit will follow in the footsteps of U2, Britney Spears, Paul McCartney, Jay-Z and the Kings of Leon? Maybe not to those in the know. But in a two-year period, it's fair to say one of music's most-underground genres has gone pop. Afrojack, David Guetta, RedOne and Dr. Luke have turned the radio "club," and EDM festival attendance has skyrocketed. Dance music has never been more popular — and according to some their biggest stars, if anyone can handle the Garden, it's "the Swedes."

"The Swedish House Mafia crew: If there is one thing you can note them for, it's thinking outside the box," Pete Tong said. "It's exciting. It's something for the people to talk about that moves the culture forward."

When MTV News caught up with Tiësto in Miami this year, he said, "They inspire me. Sebastian is like the Mozart of Sweden. Steve is brilliant. He makes great underground tracks, and he has the right soul. Axwell is the pretty boy," he said, laughing. "Brown hair, blue eyes, who delivers great music. They are all three amazingly talented."

Chuckie called SHM "biggest thing at the moment." "They do the craziest club tracks, the biggest mainstream records. I really like those guys and really respect them. Swedish House Mafia, to me, is the biggest thing out there, for real."

Tickets for "One Night Stand," December 16 at Madison Square Garden, go on sale September 30 at 10 a.m. ET. For information about pre-sales and how to get tickets, head over to Swedish House Mafia's website and Facebook page. And keep your eyes and ears peeled: Expect a live album, One Night Stand, recorded on the road this year, which will feature their latest single, "Antidote" (a collaboration with Knife Party: Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen from Pendulum), and the official release of their remix of Coldplay's "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall."

SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA TAKE THE PARTY OUTSIDE IN IBIZA...

Swedish House Mafia - Ushuaia, Ibiza
To no one’s surprise, the 2011 Ibiza season has got off to a blockbuster start for the Swedish House Mafia. The trio’s Masquerade Motel residency is now in its fifth week, with plenty more debauched Mondays to come. Not content with weekly roadblocks outside Pacha, the Swedes announced overnight that they’ll be heading into the sunshine for a series of daytime shows.

After apparently searching for “an amazing outdoor space”, they’ve settled on the much-hyped Ushuaia Beach Club (the same place Danny Tenaglia has chosen for his 12-hour classics set). Next Wednesday 13 July, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso will be in control, with special surprise guests from their respective labels Size and Refune. We imagine dancing space will be at a premium.

When they’re not living it up in Ibiza, the Mafiosos have a few colossal headline slots planned in July at Tomorrowland and T In The Park.

SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA ANNOUNCE IBIZA '11 LINE-UP...

After a blockbuster season in 2010, the Swedish House Mafia is checking in to Pacha Ibiza again this summer. The powerhouse trio has been drip-feeding details of its Monday night takeover, Masquerade Motel, and now they’ve taken the wraps off the line-ups from 6 June till 26 September.

The opening party sees all three Mafioso in the booth, but most Mondays you’ll find one member away on other duties (probably stuck in a transit lounge). You won’t go wanting for star value, though. The same friends who helped the trio go large on Miami Beach – Armand Van Helden, A-Trak, Dirty South and Calvin Harris – are flying to Ibiza, along with live acts Tinie Tempah and Example.

Naturally there’s also room for SHM protégés like AN21, Max Vangeli and Thomas Gold, plus a couple of appearances from big-room veteran Benny Benassi. All up, it looks as mega as the Swedes like it, with some yet-to-be-announced special guests still to be revealed.
