AFROJACK ALBUM ON THE WAY...

For all the movers and shakers of 2011, it’s Dutch production gun Afrojack that’s caught nearly everyone’s attention with his Grammy win, superstar hook-ups and relentless touring schedule.

If all that’s not enough to sate your insatiable hunger for more, then you’re in luck as the 23 (!!) year old star is getting ready to sink his teeth into the production of the first Afrojack album.

“I’m doing, on average, eight gigs a week, sometimes in different countries on the same day,” Afrojack told Spinner about finding the time to bunker down in the studio to work on the album. “Us producers and DJs perform all summer long and then go back in the studio in September. I’m actually starting my own album in September. I know I’m going to start it, but I don’t have a contract or a label or anything. I just start doing it and there are going to be some cool artists on that.”

Translation: Paris Hilton is involved. Ahem.

AFROJACK & AVICII TO FEATURE ON GUETTA'S NEW ALBUM...

As he enthused last month, the new David Guetta album 'Nothing But The Beat' promises a lot of David Guetta. With two discs and 21 tracks, it’s the Frenchman’s attempt to straddle commercial radio, club dancefloors and even the bags of “the most credible DJs on the planet”. It’s all part of the Guetta game-plan.

“People going after-hours tripping on my music, that’s my challenge,” he muses in the album’s press release. “And I want to have everybody together with my music playing in the gay clubs and on mainstream radio, my music playing on urban radios and on pop radios. Hip-hop DJs playing my dance music songs, and house music DJs playing tracks where I incorporate raps in.”

A lofty aim, certainly, and while we don’t imagine Richie Hawtin or John Digweed will be playing his latest jams, it’s hard to fault the man’s ambition. As we already knew, the opening CD of 'Nothing But The Beat' is groaning under the weight of appearances from Guetta’s Stateside accomplices like Nicki Minaj, Taio Cruz, Chris Brown and Usher. That “urban radios and pop radios” part of the equation is all sewn up.

On the flipside, the ‘electronic’ disc is pitched at Guetta’s ‘original fans’. “I didn’t want people who’ve been following me for years to feel left out,” he says. There’s not a rap verse in sight, with a suite of the producer’s Ibiza-ready house records, including his hook-ups with Stereosonic 2011 headliners Avicii and Afrojack. Doesn’t sound like the stuff you’ll be “tripping on” at the end of mega bender, but we’re certainly looking at a blockbuster dance LP here.

AFROJACK DOCUMENTS EDC...

Dutch hitmaker Afrojack was the breakout star of Stereosonic 2010. The DJ’s rapid rise to the big league is no more apparent than in North America, where his dominance of the charts is matched by the scale of the clubs he regularly plays.

One place where he’s right at home is the bright and flashy Las Vegas, and in late June he took to the mainstage at Electric Daisy Carnival to do his thing in front of a sea of rapt ravers. This week, Afrojack has posted a video from the surreal weekend, which captures the sheer size and insanity of the event. As he puts it in the video: “Almost every artist in the world is playing”. Anyone who claims dance music is 'old news' obviously hasn’t been to a festival in Vegas.

Afrojack is back in Europe this weekend for another monster dance festival, Belgium’s Tomorrowland. Almost every artist in the world is playing this one as well, and Afrojack got together recently with Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike and Nervo to make the 2011 official anthem. The result is a the kind of insanely overblown anthem that would make the Swedish House Mafia proud.

AFROJACK TO LAUNCH 'JACKED'...

Grammy award winning artist and producer Afrojack [Nick van de Wall] will launch his first ever weekly radio show called “Jacked” on SiriusXM starting July 17, 2011.

Jacked will feature Afrojack’s unique take on dance music in all its forms and will be co-hosted by fellow Dutch artist (and frequent Afrojack collaborator), Bobby Burns.

Jacked will debut Saturday, June 17 at 1:00 am ET on Electric Area, channel 52 with a rebroadcast every Monday at 8 pm ET.

The Dutch producer and electronic music artist is featured on the chart-topping song “Give Me Everything” by Pitbull.

Electric Area plays progressive house, trance and electronic music along with shows from the world’s top DJs, including Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto and Ferry Corsten, Above & Beyond, Sander Van Doorn, Carl Cox and Josh Wink. PARIS HILTON VS AFROJACK?..

Here we thought that, like any heiress with an insatiable ego and money to burn, Paris Hilton’s promises/threats to make a ‘house music’ album were just flippant little nothings that would never eventuate to anything. Shame on us it seems, as somehow the wheels continue to spin on Hilton’s diabolical dance plans.

While we previously reported that French house hitmaker David Guetta was Paris’ producer victim of choice it now looks like the heiress has moved on to Dutch house prodigy and frequent Guetta point-man Afrojack to give her some club cred.

As announced in a story by The Hollywood Reporter, Afrojack has at least considered working with Hilton on her music saying that he met with her about the collaboration.

“She was pretty cool so we’ll see,” Afrojack said before adding a condition to their partnership; “I’m not going to do a pop song with Paris. If I do something with her, it’s going to be real.”

Phew. Don’t worry you guys, it’s going to be 'real'.
