ANOTHER 'GREATEST DJ OF ALL TIME' LIST... YAWN...
Earlier this year clubbers vigorously discussed the results of Mixmag’s contentious ‘Greatest DJ of All Time’ poll which crowned the supreme master of trouse himself, Tiesto, as the best to ever grace the decks ahead of the field of nominees including Sasha, Sven Vath, Larry Levan, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Tony De Vit.
Now a similar list has been published online by Music Radar in an attempt to offer a new perspective on history’s greatest disc jockeys. Unlike the Mixmag list, this countdown of the top 20 DJs of all time has not been open to public vote, so you can take it with a few hundred grains of salt. Lists like these usually ignite some pretty interesting debate and it is Friday after all.
The Music Radar list is quite a comprehensive tally of turntable greats, with storied artists like David Mancusco, Carl Cox and DJ Cash Money ranking highly, as do innovative acts like DJ Yoda and Cut Chemist. As well as a few curveballs, there’s a very strong hip-hop presence in the list with Jam Master Jay, DJ Qbert and Z-Trip all storming the list. Indeed, it’s the one and only Grandmaster Flash that takes out the top spot.

2.Z-Trip
3.Coldcut
4.DJ Qbert
5.Mr. Scruff

What do it think?.. I think pretty much all of them are punching above their weight!
