ANNIE MAC PRESENTS... AT THE WAREHOUSE PROJECT, SOLD OUT...

Six nights at WHP11 are now SOLD OUT, the latest being Annie Mac presents on Friday 23rd September.

Fans are also warned that tickets to Saturday 22nd October’s event, hosted by leading drum ‘n’ bass label Hospitality, are running dangerously low. There is no time to waste when it comes to securing a place one the dance floor for the biggest and best club line-ups on offer this year.

Only two weeks remain until The Warehouse Project opens its doors marking the start of an amazing 15 weeks, 32 parties and the last ever season at Store Street.

The launch event on Saturday 17th September, aka The Beginning of the End, welcomes the legendary DJ Shadow. A major presence in electronic music for an impressive 15 years DJ Shadow will be laying on an extra special performance dubbed ‘Live from the Shadow Sphere’.

The start of WHP11 proceedings also features many more exhilarating sets packing in everything from dubstep to experimental beats from resident Skream, Sgt Pokes, SBTKT, Hudson Mohawke, Jackmaster, Africa Hi-Tech, Mark Pritchard, Steve Specek, Faulty DL, Illum Sphere, Jonny Dub and Juicy DJs.

DJ CHUCKIE, 'WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS'...

It’s been 2 years now since DJ Chuckie burst onto the International DJ circuit with the massive single 'Let The Bass Kick In Miami Girl' feat. party-rockers LMFAO (buy HERE). Since then he's been DJ'ing globally, blowing minds and speakers of in every club he’s graced.

Despite a jam-packed touring schedule including residencies in Las Vegas and Miami, as well as prime slots on the touring IDentity Festival this summer, Chuckie has been producing and releasing new material on his own Dirty Dutch Records while hosting his the monthly 'In New DJs We Trust' show on BBC Radio 1.

'What Happens In Vegas' feat. Gregor Salto, is his most anticipated release since "Let The Bass Kick...", already creating a huge buzz among the international DJ scene with support from David Guetta, Thomas Gold and Joachim Garraud. With it’s signature bass riff and an unmistakable Dirty Dutch twist its already being lauded by some as the biggest dance track of the year.

AJAPAI, 'ENERGIZE' EP...

The dubstep scene is a pretty aggressive one, and unfortunately a lot of good acts come and go these days.

One player who's not going anywhere is the Japanese hit maker Ajapai!

Ajapai's Energize EP drops tomorrow on Rottun Records and it's a killer.

The EP's made up of 'Energize' and 'Battle'. Two heavy hitting tracks that pack a lot of energy and bass.

DUBSTEP AND GRIME ADDED TO DICTIONARY...

The words ‘dubstep’ and ‘grime’ have been included in the latest edition of the Chambers English dictionary. While both genres have been active for around about the last 10 years, they have shot to prominence and become household names recently thanks to the success of chart topping acts like Magnetic Man and Tinchy Stryder.

It certainly seems that if dubstep is good enough for Britney Spears, who used a smidgeon of wobble on one of her latest single, it’s definitely good enough for the dictionary.

Robert Williams, commissioning editor of the Chambers dictionary, said: “Chambers only includes words that are here to stay and these music styles have proved that they are."

‘Dubstep’ and ‘grime’ were amongst a slew of new additions, including ‘beatboxing’. ‘Dubstep’ is already included in the Oxford English Dictionary and Chambers have stepped up to the pop-culture mantle and put the terms in their latest edition.

‘Dubstep’ is defined as a ‘type of electronic popular dance music developed from drum and bass’ while ‘grime’ is defined as ‘a style of popular music combining elements of dance hall and hip hop’. Chambers’ version will no doubt spark plenty of debate about what strands of music both genres come from. There doesn’t seem to be any mention of UK garage or the hardcore continuum anywhere…

What this does mean, however, is that dubstep and grime are both very much at the forefront of popular consciousness right now.

DEADMAU5 IN LAS VEGAS...

deadmau5 will touch down in Las Vegas over Labor Day weekend (this coming Friday and Saturday). The mau5 will play The Chelsea venue at The Cosmopolitan in what will be his first ever performances on the strip.

The city’s clubbers can expect to be treated to deadmau5′s storming sets, which fuse traditional DJ selection with live, off-the-cuff improvisation.
