PETE TONG GRANTED RESTRAINING ORDER...

Pete Tong has had to get a restraining order against Shara Nelson after she claimed that she was his wife. The Massive Attack singer has been harrassing the Radio 1 star with nuisance phone calls and even told Pete’s colleagues that she was his manager.

Understandably, poor old Tongy has been finding the whole palava rather stressful, and eventually decided to apply for a restraining order. In court, Nelson even introduced herself as Shara Tong. West London magistrates gave her a 12 month community order and 80 hours of community service. It’s also claimed that Nelson was banned indefinitely from contacting Tong or his friends and family. Presumably, she’s still allowed to listen to him every Friday night on Radio 1.

Luckily the episode hasn’t affected Pete’s DJ schedule, he’s still rocking Pacha, Ibiza every Friday night. Though it’s unlikely he’s going to end his sets with ‘Unfinished Sympathy’...

MASSIVE ATTACK SPARK RIOT CONTROVERSY...

Massive Attack have posted a controversial status update on their official Facebook page, pertaining to their thoughts around the London riots. The statement reads:

In context with the complicit support of the government, the banks looted the nation's wealth while destroying countless small businesses and brought the whole economy to its knees in a covert, clean manner, rather like organised crime.

Our reaction was to march and wave banners and then bail them out. These kids would have to riot and steal every night for a year to run up a bill equivalent to the... value of non-paid tax big business has 'avoided' out of the economy this year alone.
They may not articulate their grievances like the politicians that condemn them but this is absolutely political. As for the 'mindless violence'… is there anything more mindless than the British taxpayer quietly paying back the debts of others while contributing bullets to conflicts that we have absolutely no understanding of?

It's mad, sad and scary when we have to take to the streets to defend our homes and businesses from angry thieving kids, but where are the police and what justice is ever done when the mob is dressed in pin stripe.
