DEADMAU5 REPS DS @ T IN THE PARK...

deadmau5, T In The Park 2011
Today is a good day. Over the weekend working/browsing deadmau5's facebook updates, and a photo was brought to my attention. Deadmau5 boarding the Foo Fighters private jet with none other than Dave Grohl.
As if this wasn’t spectacle enough, he happened to be wearing Dirty Smart's 'Dirty House' tee.

I knew deadmau5 was playing T In The Park on Sunday so became glued to ALL his social media feeds, fixated with the hope that Joel may take to the main stage wearing Dirty Smart in front of 80k screaming fans. I didnt have to wait long.

Joel Zimmerman, I dont know you but fuck you’re a legend.

When i first started Dirty Smart i reached out to some of my favourite artists telling them about my idea. Some liked it; others asked what was in it for them...

Its a common misconception that Dirty Smart pays artists to wear our gear... we don’t. The way we see it is that if money changes hands, there is not love.

Not just that- I defo couldn’t afford to pay for the endorsement of some of the cats we have spotted representing! Im a 25 year old raver with no financial clout. Just a kid with a dream i guess...

To any artist that digs and wears Dirty Smart... it's hard to put my appreciation into words; however it goes without saying that my hat is off.

DEADMAU5 TO RETIRE 'THE CUBE'...

deadmau5, the cube
This Summer, deadmau5 has been busy going large on some of Europe’s biggest stages. In June, the producer packed out London’s Victoria Park for his own mini-festival, before rolling on to Sweden, Norway, Serbia and Scotland. Most of those shows saw the mighty ‘Cube’ set-up in action, but it looks like the man in the mau5-head is moving on.

Before appearing at Scotland’s immense T In The Park festival over the weekend (80,000 up-for-it Scots make for quite the party), deadmau5 took to Facebook with this message: “Allllllright TITP, this is it! the last show on the tour, and the last time i stand atop the mousecube! Let’s make it epic.”

From all reports, the performance was epic, but there hasn’t been a further update about what’s to become of the live show from here. Deadmau5 also appeared over the weekend at EXIT Festival, where he took the Dance Arena through till sunrise in his ‘Unhooked’ guise, the dialled-down live set-up that cuts out the Cube and LED mau5-head.

Maybe ‘Unhooked’ will be the way of the future for the hard-touring superstar (an August circuit of the US awaits), or perhaps there’s an even bigger and bolder production waiting in the wings. We’re banking on the latter.

T IN THE PARK ANNOUNCES SLAM TENT LINE UP...

T In The Park, Slam Tent
Every year since 1997 the Slam Tent at T in the Park has brought the world’s most prominent figures in electronic music to the fields of Balado. DF Concerts and founding partner Tennent’s Lager have now revealed the line up which will be curated by world renowned techno powerhouse Slam.

Joining an exceptional Slam Tent line up that already includes Leftfield (live), Felix da Housecat, Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77 and Vitalic (live) are Dave Clarke, Tiga, Chris Liebing, DJ Sneak, Hudson Mohawke (live), James Holden, Craig Richards, The Black Dog and Mark Henning.

The ‘Baron Of Techno’ Dave Clarke will follow Leftfield (live) on Saturday night to bring the first day’s proceedings to a thundering close. He’s known for his forward thinking vision with sets that swoop along the cutting blade of techno and electro backed up by a seasoned bag of digital DJ tricks.

Over a decade after Tiga launched his career on a revolutionary Montreal radio station he’s still making some of the finest dance music around and is credited with producing some of the most iconic tracks of our generation including his cover version of Corey Hart’s ‘Sunglasses at Night’ and his remix of Felix da Housecat’s ‘Madame Hollywood’.

The sound of Chris Liebing has continuously evolved throughout his mammoth career, keeping up with the digital movement to a point where his current setup offers him practically endless possibilities. An Ibiza stalwart, Chris played the early days of ‘Cocoon Ibiza’ and cohosted the island’s biggest techno fiesta ‘Meganite’ with Mauro Picotto.

One of dance music’s true pioneers, DJ Sneak has the passion and drive to keep house music alive. DJ Sneak has helped shape the course of dance music since the early 90s; his early music influencing the likes of Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx and Armand Van Helden. His signature sounds – funky filtered disco-influenced house and tough, jacking beats – have revolutionised and redefined house music for well over 15 years.

To be honest, I'd be happy with a weekend of JUST Death Crew '77. If you havent heard of them prepare to have your world rocked...
