DRUMS OF DEATH, RED WAVES...

Drums of Death continues to re-emerge from the shadows and after the success of his 'Black Waves EP', the masked electro-howler now returns with the next in the series, entitled 'Red Wave', due for release in December with a decidely mature feel to his latest production work.

Four tracks make up the EP, which sees the solo artist go for a smoother and more introverted feel (minus his vocals) than previous works – it also focuses on a keen love for techno and house, soaked in blastingly prominent sounds and minimal drum pattern arrangements.

Angular, rhythmic synth-work meet the 808 drum machine on 'Tear The Box Apart', cheeky overtones on 'The Jerk' and of course, 'Venice Beach', a glowing, melodic tale. The second quality release in a continuing series of EP’s, DoD proves that he’s got the skills to pay the bills, aside from voodoo magic, painted face and blogeratti hype.

Red Waves drops on the 5th December through Civil Music.

DRUMS OF DEATH RETURNS TO CIVIL MUSIC WITH THE BLACK WAVES EP...

Drums Of Death gave Civil Music it's first release, a one-sided, mega-limited 12" picture disc numbered 'CIV001'...

Now he returns to the family with 'Black Waves', available as 12" vinyl and download that just dropped Monday 11th July which is already recieving great support from the likes of Untold, Fake Blood and Sinden to name a few.

The EP travels a darker road than people have heard Drums Of Death take before. It wrenches from blitzkrieg techno and 808 rattling house to late-night baroque-step, cosmic synthwerkz. This EP is the new direction of Drums Of Death and the first in a series for EPs for Civil Music.

Drums do indeed keep pounding a rhythm to the brain....

So, who is Drums Of Death?
Drums Of Death is the alter-ego of Colin Bailey, a Scottish musician. Drums Of Death emerged from London’s club scene in early 2008 and after Joe Goddard from Hot Chip and Alex Waldron heard a tape of his music they signed him to their record label and party crew: Greco-Roman. Stories quickly began to emerge in the press that he was cursed by some voodoo magic and had his heart cut out and replaced with a broken drum machine. Whilst keeping his real face a secret with black and white paint and refusing to answer rumours about this curse he performed on stages around the world from Los Angeles to Bangkok, to London to Berlin and everywhere in between.
